Volunteering with us
If you're thinking about volunteering we'd love to meet you. We welcome new volunteers who are keen to share their skills and willing to support our members to continue to live in their homes. And we can offer hours that fit in with your lifestyle, whether you're available for an hour a month, or a morning once a week.

So, what happens once you're registered as a KADAP volunteer? We keep a list of all volunteers, their availability, and what tasks they are willing to take on. When a member gets in touch with KADAP to say they need some help, one of our office team will record the details and contact a suitable volunteer. We want our volunteers to feel comfortable, so there’s no pressure to accept a task if you're unavailable. If a volunteer can’t assist, we simply move on to the next person on the list. Once a volunteer agrees to help, they connect directly with the member to finalise the arrangements and complete the task. It's as easy as that! We only ask that, once the task is complete, you inform the office so we can log the time spent and kilometres driven. This helps us with reporting, record-keeping, and future funding applications.
If you'd like to sign up there is a button below that takes you to our online application form. Alternatively you can complete a paper copy at our office.
In addition to completing our Application Form we required two forms of ID and a completed Police Vetting Form. Please download and print the Vetting Form, then bring it into our office with your original ID once you've filled it in. When you visit the office you'll also be given some information about our policies and procedures, and a Volunteer Handbook that contains some of useful material about working with KADAP. This includes Health & Safety info, and our koha policy which covers what happens if you are driving a member or if there is a cost to do a job, like purchasing a tap washer.
